Be Prepared, Not Scared! Murray, Santino, Hudes Help Senior Citizens

Residential burglaries are invasions of privacy and are threats to the safety and quality of life enjoyed by Hempstead Town residents.  Many burglars prey on our most vulnerable citizens, tending to target the senior citizens in our community.

There have been nine “distraction burglaries” and attempted robberies in our Township since December 9th, where criminals have used various methods of deception to gain access to the house and valuables inside by distracting homeowners.

In an effort to increase awareness and knowledge for concerned senior citizens, Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray, Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino, and Councilman Gary Hudes joined with the Town Department of Public Safety to host a recent burglary prevention safety seminar.
